The Design Process

The design process of a custom made kitchen is based on the previous discussion of the initial meeting. The designer will need to explore different options and layouts based on your needs, taste, style and budget.

Next will be a presentation of these thoughts; a design complete with 3-dimensional drawings of the layout, a floor plan and a quotation, which you should also stipulate the required lead-time from order to installation completed. Working as a team, you will talk about any other options that might enhance the design.

Once the overall theme, layout and cost have met your approval, one will move on to the construction drawings, which are passed to the manufacturing side, and the services drawings, which are for your builders on-site.

After the plans for your custom kitchen are complete, and all colours and styles are decided and a site visit has been made, the building of your custom kitchen cabinetry will begin.

The design to installation process of a custom kitchen is as follows:

  • Establish contact with the designer;
  • Initial meeting with designer;
  • Design and planning of your kitchen;
  • Presentation of your kitchen;
  • Fine-tuning the design;
  • On-site check of dimensions etc;
  • Construction Drawings
  • Construction of cabinetry will start;
  • Builders services drawings;
  • Pre-installation checks for the kitchen will take place;
  • Installation of custom kitchen;
  • Handing over to the client and commissioning.
